pROFESSIONAL PAINT PROTECTION
What is pAINT PROTECTION?
In simple terms, a ceramic coating is used to cover a car with a second layer. This coating, which is clear and doesn’t alter the vehicle’s paintwork, helps to protect against various issues.
Ceramic coating is a shield against common problems that often degrade the appearance of a car. Ceramic coatings utilise nano-technology which is where tiny particles form together to create an exceptionally fine, thin layer that’s invisible to the naked eye. As for what these particles consist of, the coating’s liquid formula will usually include ceramic, quartz, or glass.
The use of such materials offers extra protection from the following:
- bird/bat droppings
- Chemical resistance
- Oxidation and uv damage
- road grime
- Light scratches
A Ceramic coating will form a semi-permanent bond with your paint once applied and can last many years depending on the type of coating, and how it is maintained. This coating is known as ‘Paint Protection’

Benefits of a ceramic coating
UV and Sun Protection
A professionally applied liquid polymer sealant shields your vehicle's paint from the damaging effects of the sun, preventing oxidation. Ceramic coating is essential for cars that are frequently parked outdoors or driven regularly to maintain their pristine appearance.
Weather Erosion
Exposure to water, salt, sand, snow, and heat can harshly impact your vehicle's paint, significantly diminishing its appearance and longevity. A ceramic coating offers robust protection against these elements, preserving the pristine look and feel of your paint.
Tree Sap
Tree sap is one of nature's most potent adhesives. If allowed to sit on your car's paint for too long, it can cause significant damage, potentially stripping away the clear coat. Our ceramic coating provides effective protection against this sticky hazard, helping to preserve the integrity and appearance of your vehicle's exterior.
Industrial Fallout
In urban environments, atmospheric pollutants often deposit particles on exposed surfaces, leading to potential damage. A ceramic coating shields these surfaces by forming a hydrophobic layer that prevents deterioration and oxidation. This protective barrier not only repels harmful substances but also makes cleaning simple, as contaminants can be easily washed away.
Bird Droppings
Bird droppings contain high levels of uric acid, which can severely degrade your car's clear coat and eventually damage the paint itself if not promptly removed. Ceramic coating provides excellent protection with its hydrophobic and chemically resistant properties, ensuring that these acidic contaminants can be easily washed away, preserving your vehicle's finish.
Acid Rain
During spring, rain often contains higher levels of nitric and sulfuric acids. When this acid rain evaporates, it leaves behind a corrosive residue that can deteriorate your vehicle's clear coat and paintwork. GTECHNIQ Ceramic Coating provides a superior, impenetrable barrier that safeguards your paint against these damaging effects.

for your vehicle!
Dust, mud, loose stones, sun exposure, ice, bug splats, pollution, brake dust, iron fall out and so on – the roads and environment throw many different things at your car in an attempt to damage its appearance.
When a car ceramic coating is applied it helps to protect your paintwork and other parts of your vehicle from this damage occuring.
That’s not all. A car ceramic coating is a multi-faceted product that also assists with keeping your car exterior clean.
Automatic car washes are not the best option, as they can leave micro scratches and marring on your paintwork.
With a ceramic coating, your vehicle maintains its clean and glossy appearance.
A ceramic coating ensures your vehicle is kept in its best condition for years to come.
A Final word
The Paint Protection industry is a very large one, generating a lot of money in the car detailing and automotive industry.
Unfortunately, there are many brands out there with exaggerated claims that use lower quality materials and advertise that their product ‘XYZ’ is the best and lasts the longest.
We at Deadset Detailing refuse to sell you any paint protection that we have not used on our vehicles and from brands that we believe are genuine in their claims. Many companies pop up claiming to offer the best and longest-lasting ceramic coatings with the sole objective of making as much money as possible with little regard for the quality of their product.
If a company claims their product lasts for an extended period eg 5+ years then you have to read the fine print and see if they will require you to get top-ups or extra product applied every 6-12 months. This means you are not going to get the advertised durability unless you jump through their hoops and meet their conditions. You are not purchasing one coating but multiple coatings over some time.
Deadset Detailing only uses Ceramic Coatings that do not have exaggerated claims on durability and will always give you a realistic scenario of how long your coating will last.
Have a look at our Paint Protection packages, we have pricing to suit all budgets and can give you a free quote on any vehicle large or small. Including caravans, motorhomes, boats, planes, machinery, trucks, and anything else in between.
Frequently asked questions
A ceramic coating is not a magical armor. It can’t do everything, sadly. With that said, here’s a breakdown of what ceramic coating can – and cannot – do:
It’s hydrophobic: This means the ceramic coating is essentially self-cleaning. The result: your car’s paint remains cleaner for longer in between washes.
It is anti-stick: You know how mud and dirt can cling onto a vehicle? This isn’t an issue for cars that possess a ceramic coating, as it is a repellent for both mud and dirt.
It lasts for years: Instead of regular waxing or other methods that last a couple of months at best, you can be safe in the knowledge that a ceramic coating lasts for several years.
A waxed look at all times: Speaking of waxing, you also don’t miss out on that shine and gloss, which is typically associated with wax.
Protection against UV rays, oxidation, and stains: The ceramic coating ensures several potential issues are stopped in their tracks. You no longer have to worry about the sun or chemicals causing stains.
Last forever: ‘Nothing lasts forever,’ and that’s also the case with ceramic coating.
While some expensive coatings can last up to a decade in special circumstances.
Eventually, your coating will need reapplication when it reaches the end of its life.
- Protect against scratches and deep swirl marks: Even though some manufacturers will claim differently, a ceramic coating does not make your car resistant to scratches. The same can also be said for deep swirl marks caused by washing.
- Eliminate the need to wash your car: Unfortunately, and although the frequency is cut down, you will still need to wash your car from time to time.
Paint correction is a common term used by both professional and amateur auto detailers worldwide; it describes the process of restoring and revitalizing the paintwork of a vehicle.
This is achieved mostly by eliminating surface imperfections, which dull, oxidize, or haze the surface by reflecting light in different directions.
These surface imperfections include scratches and swirl marks and are corrected by removing a small amount of coat from the car surface using polishing machines or buffers to apply micro-abrasive polishes. This process levels out the surface.
If your paint has swirl marks and scratches, you don’t technically need it. Still, it is highly recommended as, once you get your car coated, any scratch or swirl mark that was not adequately removed will still be visible and could even be magnified. You will also not be able to remove those imperfections in the future without removing your ceramic coating at the same time.
Paint corrections should be your choice if you want to get the most durability out of your coating. It will ensure that the clear coat is flat, even at a microscopic level, which will make sure the car coating bonds better to your paint. This leads to the finished surface being durable and looking great.
There’s no easy answer to this question. Sometimes, your car’s paint may not need it, for example, if it is brand new with no imperfections – but this is extremely rare, most brand-new cars come with swirl-marks due to the transportation or improper washing techniques at the dealership.
In most cases, some correction however minor is still recommended before applying Paint Protection to get the best result.
How to keep your car clean by yourself?
To keep your car looking fresh between professional detailing appointments, it’s important to establish a regular cleaning routine. Start by scheduling regular washing sessions to remove dirt and grime from the exterior. Inside, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly to prevent stains. Consider using protective coatings to repel dirt and water, and store your car in shaded areas to minimize sun damage. These simple steps will help preserve your car’s cleanliness and appearance.
